Oldhamii (Bambusa Oldhamii)

Oldhamii is a popular large timber bamboo variety.

It is one of the giants of the bamboo family, which can grow in excess of 15 meters in warmer climates.

Oldhamii has big, lush dark green foliage and thick, straight culms. It shoots are also edible and sweet tasting!

Oldhamii does require adequate space to grow. It is recommended that garden beds are at least 1.5 meters wide. Attention must also be given to ensure the plant does not get too close to walls, fences and infrastructure. However, this can be straightforward to achieve! This variety is perfect for bigger larger blocks/rural areas.

It is not suitable for smaller, suburban size blocks.
